The Mining Institute generates most of its revenue through commercial projects, while the remaining income comes from scientific research and innovation activities. Our greatest strength lies in our knowledge and expertise, which are applied in practical solutions for the mining industry. The Mining Institute maintains long-standing partnerships with numerous companies in Serbia and throughout the region.
The Institute’s activities are carried out through its specialized organizational units: Scientific Center, Department for Designing of Mineral-Row Material Mininig, Department for Mineral Processing and Design, including its Laboratory for Solid fuels, Geomechanics Laboratory, Laboratory for Environmental Protection and Occupational Safety.

The Institute is also the publisher of one of the oldest scientific journals in the field of mining. Following the establishment of the Mining Institute in 1962, the first issue of the renewed edition of the journal was published. The journal was originally launched in 1903, with Petar Ilić, Mining Engineer, serving as its founder, owner, and editor.
After a 15-year hiatus, Mining Bulletin (Rudarski glasnik) resumed publication in 2014 and has been published continuously ever since.
